Privacy policy
Effective August 1, 2026. SignUpQueen is operated by Buzztower LLC, an Arizona limited liability company. Questions go to support@signupqueen.com.
The short version: we collect what a sign-up sheet needs to work, and nothing else. We do not sell your information, we do not run ads, and we do not send you marketing.
What we collect
Three kinds of information, and that is all.
- Sheet content. Whatever the organizer types when they make a sheet: the title, the description, the date, the location, and the name of each slot.
- Sign-ups. The name a participant enters, and their email address and note if they choose to add them. Email and note are optional. A name is required, and it can be whatever the person wants to be called.
- Organizer email. Optional. If given, we use it to send the sheet links so they are not lost.
We also store a salted hash of the IP address a sheet or a sign-up came from. A hash is a one way scramble. We never store the address itself, and the hash cannot be turned back into one. It exists only so we can count how many sheets or sign-ups came from one place in an hour and stop somebody flooding the site.
There are no accounts, so there are no passwords and no profiles. We do not ask for your address, your phone number, or your date of birth.
What we use it for
- Running the sheet: showing it, counting the spots, and keeping two people out of the last one.
- Sending transactional email: a confirmation with a link to change or cancel a spot, and the organizer's public and manage links.
- Stopping abuse: rate limits and spam checks.
That is the whole list. We do not build a profile of you, and we do not use your information to decide what to show you.
What we do not do
- No ads. Not on sign-up pages, not anywhere.
- No selling or renting personal information to anyone.
- No marketing email. If we ever want to send one, we will ask you first and you will have to say yes.
Who can see what
Anyone with a sheet's public link can see the names, notes, and quantities on that sheet. That is what a sign-up sheet is for. Treat the public link as public: share it with your group, not with the world.
Email addresses are never shown on the public page. Only someone holding the sheet's manage link can see them.
The manage link and each cancel link work like keys. Anyone who has one has that access, and we cannot tell who is holding it. Keep them private.
Companies that help us run this
Three, and each of them only handles what it needs to. We do not give your information to anyone else.
- Vercel hosts the site.
- Neon runs the database where sheets and sign-ups are stored.
- Resend sends our email. They see the address and the message.
We do not run analytics today. If we add it, it will be a privacy-friendly tool that does not follow you around other sites, and we will say so here before it goes live.
Cookies
SignUpQueen does not set any cookies today, and it has no advertising or tracking cookies at all. If we ever need one to make the site work, it will be a strictly necessary cookie and nothing more.
How long we keep things, and how to remove them
- Remove your own sign-up. The confirmation email contains a personal link. Open it and cancel, and your name and anything with it are deleted from our database straight away. Your spot reopens for somebody else.
- Delete a whole sheet. The organizer's manage link has a delete button. It removes the sheet, its slots, and every sign-up on it from our database. That cannot be undone.
- Sheets nobody used. A sheet that never received a single sign-up is taken offline twelve months after it was made. Its link stops working. To be straight with you: we mark the record as deleted rather than erasing it at that moment, so ask us if you want it erased.
You can also write to support@signupqueen.com and ask us to delete something. Tell us the sheet link or the name you used so we can find it. We will do it and confirm when it is done.
Copies can sit in routine backups for a short time after deletion. Those are overwritten on their own schedule and are not used for anything else.
Children
SignUpQueen is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and children should not sign up for anything here on their own.
Organizers often run sheets that involve families. If you are an organizer, what you collect through your sheet is your responsibility, including anything about a child. Ask for as little as you can.
If you are a parent or guardian and a child's information is on a sheet, write to support@signupqueen.com and we will remove it.
If you are in California or the EU
You have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy, to have it corrected, and to have it deleted. You can also object to how we use it.
We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front.
To make a request, email support@signupqueen.com. Include enough detail for us to find your information. We will reply within the time the law requires, and we will not treat you differently for asking.
Changes to this policy
If we change how any of this works, we will update this page and change the effective date at the top. If the change is significant and we have your email because you organized a sheet, we will tell you.
